Additional districts, including Nuapada, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Deogarh, and Angul, face heatwave risks, while hot and humid conditions are likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, and Dhenkanal, under a Yellow Warning. Bargarh is specifically under an Orange Warning from 8:30 AM on April 24 to 8:30 AM on April 25.
The Met Centre warns that prolonged exposure to the sun, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM, could lead to heat cramps, rashes, and other health issues, particularly for infants, the elderly, and those Perspective persons with chronic illnesses.
Heatwave conditions are expected to persist in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bolangir, Boudh, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Angul, and Deogarh until April 26.
Residents are urged to take precautions, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and seek shade to mitigate risks.
