Pahalgam attack: Security stepped up outside Pakistan Embassy in Delhi

The security arrangements have been strengthened outside the Pakistan Embassy in the national capital on Wednesday in the wake of deadly attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam area.

According to a senior Delhi Police officer, multiple teams of Delhi Police, along with Rapid Action Force and a contingent of Central Reserve Police Force personnel have been deployed outside the embassy to avert any kind of untoward situation.

Senior officers, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla and Addition DCP Sumit Jha, are also present near the embassy to take stock of the security arrangements.

At least 26 tourists were killed, while 12 others were injured in a deadly terror attack carried out by at least half a dozen terrorists in south Kashmir’s Pahalgam area.

While the attack has been claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorist group, security agencies believe that Saifullah Kasuri, also known by the alias Khalid, a senior commander of the (LeT), is the mastermind behind the massacre.

As per intel sources, Khalid is said to be operating from city of Gujranwala in Pakistan

Meanwhile, Pakistan has denied any involvement of their state actors in the Pahalgam attack and expressed its concern over the loss of lives. “We extend our condolences to the near ones of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated in a statement.
