Pahalgam terror attack: Sketches of terrorists released; ‘Bharat will not bend to terror’, says Amit Shah

Security agencies released the pencil sketches of three terrorists suspected to be involved in the terror attack that killed 26 people and injured several others, mostly tourists, near Pahalgam in south Kashmir.

The sketches were prepared with the help of the survivors. The terrorists have been identified as Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah and Abu Talha, and are Pakistani nationals. Officials believe that the trio, whose code names are Moosa, Yunus and Asif, were involved in terror-related incidents in Poonch.

Another photo showing four terrorists, too, has been released.

The Resistance Front (TRF), a shadow outfit of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba terror group, claimed responsibility for the attack on Tuesday.

Several parts of Jammu region saw a complete shutdown today to protest the terror attack in Pahalgam. Protests were held in several parts of Jammu city, with many protesters raising anti-Pakistan slogans.

Bharat will not bend to terror’: Amit Shah on Pahalgam attack

Reacting to the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that India will not bend to terror and that those responsible for the killing will not be spared.

He laid wreaths on the bodies of those killed in the terror attack, and also met the bereaved families, who appealed to him for justice.

Shah then visited Baisaran meadow — the site of the terror attack.

He also chaired a high-level security review meeting with top officials, including Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and DGP Nalin Prabhat.
