Nasreen’s remarks went viral and evoked multiple reactions. Most netizens agreed with her bold statements against the religion.
One user wrote, "Islam is a threat to global peace, prosperity and security”, while another commented, *"Don’t ever trust this koum. Boycott them to the fullest."
Others called out the United Nations’ silence, saying, "The entire world is under threat and the UN is still unable to define terrorism”.
In another post, Nasreen wrote, If a religion is not humane, either make it humane or abandon it. Religions stand on a foundation of falsehoods. With a single breath, they could all vanish".
Pahalgam under attack
Survivors and relatives of victims pointed out that the terrorists targeted non-Muslims in the recent attack.
Saurabh Dwivedi, cousin of newlywed Shubham Dwivedi who was killed in Pahalgam, told ANI that the attackers asked for names, perhaps to identify their religion, before shooting them.
Asavari, daughter of a Pune-based businessman killed in the attack, seconded the claim. “There were several tourists around, but the terrorists specifically targeted male tourists after asking whether they were Hindu or Muslim,” she was quoted as saying in a PTI news report.
