'Kal Jo Hua Usske Zimmedar Pradhanmantri Modi Aur Amit Shahji Hai' Sanjay Raut Blames BJP's Religious Politics For Pahalgam Terror Attack (VIDEO)
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Sanjay Raut conducted a press conference on April 23, talking over the terrorist attack on tourists in Baisaran in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam area where 28 people were killed leaving several injured on Tuesday, April 22, hate crime over religious conflicts is termed to be the reason behind these attacks. Sanjay Raut has demanded the resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah stating that he is a 'failed Home Minister'
In the start of the press conference Sanjay Raut stated that the government wants to cut off security budget by about Rs 2 Lakh but is prioritising spending money over schemes like Ladki Bahin Yojana instead of prioritising security for the people of the country. Following this statement Raut stated that Modi and Shah are the real culprits behind the attack and deaths of the tourists in Pahalgam yesterday.
Further more, Raut stated that in Pahalgam, terrorists queried about religion before opening fire on tourists. When approached for comment, Sanjay Raut stated that if inquiries about religion were made during the attack, the BJP's politics of hatred is also to blame. He noted that the ongoing political climate of hatred in the country could backfire one day. Raut alleged that the contemptible politics and hatred fostered are accountable for the events in Pahalgam.
Sanjay Raut said, “If terrorists questioned tourists about their religion in Pahalgam, the BJP's culture of hatred is to blame.”
In an X post earlier, Sanjay Raut demanded resignation stating Shah only aims at establishing and dismantling opposition parties and should do a country a favour by resigning from the post as India's Home Minister.
Pahalgam Tourists Terror Attack
On Tuesday, 28 tourists lost their lives in a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Reports reveal that these terrorists targeted the tourists by asking about their religious affiliation, forcing them to recite the kalma, and removing their clothing to expose their religious identity.
Sanjay Raut also criticised Home Minister Amit Shah, labeling him a failed Home Minister. He asserted that it is not just him but Amit Shah's ineffectiveness is recognised nationwide, calling for his resignation. Raut described him as an inauspicious and ineffective Home Minister who should not remain in office even for a minute. He accused Shah of engaging in political manoeuvring instead of addressing the deadly circumstances affecting the nation.
Raut emphasised that while people are dying, those in power are preoccupied with political duties. He highlighted that six individuals from Maharashtra were among those killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The removal of Article 370 was purportedly to give the Center full control over Kashmir, converting it into a Union Territory. Thus, he asserted that the Central government holds full responsibility for the Pahalgam attack, not the state government.
He questioned the reasons behind the incident, stating that the government is accountable and specifically blaming the Home Minister. With it being the tourist season in Kashmir and thousands of tourists present, there was not a single security personnel on site. In contrast, when Amit Shah visited Srinagar, there was a motorcade of about 75 vehicles along with over 500 armed security personnel.
Such a significant security presence was afforded to just one individual, yet no security arrangements were made for ordinary citizens. Raut pointed out that this negligence stems from approximately 200,000 vacant positions in the military. He mentioned that the government is looking to reduce defense spending by redirecting funds to initiatives like Ladki Bhaini, thus compromising the security infrastructure.
He remarked that Modi and Amit Shah had claimed that terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir would be completely eradicated post-demonetization. However, terrorism continues to rise, and the government is deliberately trying to suppress the matter and these leaders are misleading in Parliament. The flow of information regarding events there is restricted. Sanjay Raut declared that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah bear responsibility for what transpired yesterday. He reiterated that the government is accountable, blaming the pervasive hatred spread across the nation from West Bengal to Kashmir as a root cause of the attack.
