'Go Tell This To Modi': Terrorist Tells Karnataka Woman After Killing Her Husband In Pahalgam; Siddaramaiah REACTS
Pahalgam: A tourist from Karnataka's Shivamogga was killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday. The victim, Manjunath, had travelled to the valley with his wife Pallavi and their young son, reported India Today.
Pallavi narrating the chilling incident said, “Three of us – me, my husband and our son – had gone to Kashmir. It happened around 1.30 pm, I think. We were at Pahalgam. He died on the spot, in front of my eyes,” she said, adding, “It still feels like a bad dream.”
Pallavi further said that local civilians stepped in to help her immediately after the attack. “Three local people rescued me.”
According to Pallavi, the terrorists seemed to be targeting Hindus. “Three to four people attacked us. I told them – kill me too, you’ve already killed my husband. One of them said, ‘I won’t kill you. Go tell this to Modi’.”
Pallavi also appealed to the authorities to ensure that her husband’s body is brought back to Shivamogga at the earliest. “The body can’t be brought down easily. It needs to be airlifted. We want it brought back immediately,” she said.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah took to micro-blogging website X and condemned the attack. “As soon as I received the news that Kannadigas were targeted by terrorists in Kashmir, I held a meeting with the Chief Secretaries and senior police officers to gather information and instruct them to take immediate action. A team of officials, including police officers, has traveled to Kashmir. I have also instructed the Resident Commissioner of Delhi to take charge of the further action. We are closely monitoring the entire incident and are standing by our side to help the victims of the attack."
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha have left for Srinagar.
