Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has launched a comprehensive drain cleaning campaign across the city in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season. The civic body announced the initiative via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, highlighting the campaign as a critical step toward improving sanitation and preventing waterlogging during heavy rains.

The campaign, which began this month, is expected to be completed by the end of May. TMC officials have stated that the primary objective is to ensure that all major and minor drains are cleared of silt, garbage, and other debris that typically lead to blockages and overflow during monsoons. The initiative will not only support better drainage but also contribute to a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
