'Gross Invasion Of Privacy': Actress Chitranshi Dhyani SLAMS Netizens For Sharing Video Of Her 'Private Moment' Without Consent
Actress Chitranshi Dhyani lashed out at netizens on Tuesday after a video showing her breaking down at a cafe in Mumbai went viral. The actress criticised netizens for recording her "private" moment and sharing it online without her consent.
Dhyani took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday and came down heavily at those who shared the video online. "It's deeply disturbing and shameful that someone recorded a private moment of mine without my knowledge or consent, while I was on a personal call and was emotionally vulnerable (sic)," she wrote.
She went on to say, "Sharing such an intimate video on social media is not just a gross invasion of my privacy, but also reflects the sheer lack of basic human decency. I strongly condemn this behavior and urge people to respect boundaries (sic)."
For those unversed, a video of Dhyani had gone viral online in which she was seen crying inconsolably at a cafe in Mumbai. In the video, she was seen speaking to someone over the phone and then abruptly hanging up, before breaking down. She then wiped her tears and furiously typed something before bursting into tears again.
As the video went viral, netizens speculated that the actress was going through a bad breakup. However, some were of the opinion that the video was fake and was recorded for publicity.
This is not the first time that an actress has complained about their private moments being recorded secretly. In the past, several big names including Alia Bhatt, Taapsee Pannu, Janhvi Kapoor and others have complained about people recording them on their phones just because they were public figures.
On the work front, Dhyani played a key role in the web show, Brawl: The Battle Within in 2021. She has also featured in a number of music videos, including one with Abhishek Malhan.
