‘Haathi Banane Nikle The, Ab Chuhe Bana Rahe Hain,’ Shankaracharya Mocks Dhirendra Shastri’s 'Hindu Village' Plan Vs Hindu Rashtra

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): On a one-day visit to Jabalpur, Jyotish Peeth Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand made strong remarks against Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri.

He mocked Shastri’s latest move to create a “Hindu village,” saying, “The person who once wanted to build a Hindu nation is now only building a Hindu village."

He added, "Yeh toh wahi baat ho gayi, haathi banane nikle the aur chuha banaya"
(This is like setting out to build an elephant and ending up with a mouse.)

Speaking to the media, Swami Avimukteshwaranand said, “What happened after meeting the Prime Minister that made Dhirendra Shastri drop the idea of a Hindu nation? Is this change because of the meeting? Or is there another reason?”

He said, "Hindu Rashtra banane nikle the, lekin PM se milne ke baad Hindu gaon banane lage"
(He set out to create a Hindu nation, but after meeting the PM, now he's talking about building a Hindu village.)

Raising a sharp question, he said, "Jis gaon mein Bageshwar Dham hai, kya woh Hindu gaon nahi hai? Apne hi gaon ko Hindu gaon hone se inkaar kyun kar rahe hain?"
(Is the village where Bageshwar Dham is located not already a Hindu village? Why is he denying his own village as Hindu?)

He also criticised the government, saying, "Jis samvidhan ki sarkar duhai deti hai, usi ke khilaaf kanoon bana rahi hai"
(The same Constitution the government praises is being violated by making such laws.)

Speaking strongly on cow slaughter, he said, "Hamari maa ko koi kaat raha hai, chot pahucha raha hai, toh hum chup nahi baithenge. Hum bal ka priyog karke maa ki raksha karenge. Kanoon ke bharose maa ko marne nahi denge"
(If someone is harming our mother, we won’t stay silent. We will protect her with force. We won’t let her die just relying on the law.)

On the Murshidabad violence in West Bengal, he asked, "President Rule lagane ki baat hoti hai, par lagaya nahi jaata"
(There is talk of imposing President's Rule, but it never actually happens.)

He accused political parties of doing politics over the issue and expressed concern over the proposed Sanatan Board.

"Sanatan Board banane ki baat to sab kar rahe hain, lekin iska swaroop kya hoga koi nahi batata"
(Everyone is talking about forming a Sanatan Board, but no one tells what it will actually look like.)

He warned, "Sarkar agar Sanatan Board banayegi, toh iska haal bhi Waqf Board jaisa hoga. Hum apna gala sarkar ke haath kyun dein?"
(If the government forms it, it will end up like the Waqf Board. Why should we hand over our voice to the government?)
