Fed Up With Long-Term Illness, Elderly Couple Hangs To Death In Jabalpur

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): An elderly couple hanged themselves to death due to their long-term illnesses in their home in Jabalpur on Tuesday.

The incident is of Singuli village, under the Majhgawan police station area. The heartbreaking incident came to light on Monday morning.

According to information, the husband had been suffering from a heart condition for a long time, while the wife was undergoing treatment for tuberculosis (TB).

The couple had been facing ongoing health issues, which may have caused emotional and mental distress.

Police suspect that the burden of their illnesses and the constant suffering might have driven them to take this extreme step. However, a full investigation is underway to confirm the exact reason behind the incident.

According to their son, his parents did not come out of their room in the morning. After repeatedly calling out and getting no response, he broke open the door—only to find both of them hanging in the room.

Police reached the scene shortly after being informed and have begun a detailed investigation into the incident.

They are trying to understand the exact circumstances that led to the couple’s tragic decision.
