Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Day 5: Akshay Kumar’s Film Slows Down After Strong Weekend Run

Akshay Kumar’s latest historical drama Kesari Chapter 2, which hit theatres on April 19, is garnering appreciation for its compelling portrayal of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. With a gripping narrative and strong performances, the film is striking an emotional chord with the audience while reigniting interest in one of India’s darkest chapters in colonial history.

Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office Collection

Despite opening to a promising weekend at the box office, the film witnessed a dip in collections on its first Monday. According to a Sacnilk report, Kesari Chapter 2 earned approximately ₹4.50 crore on Day 4, a noticeable drop from Sunday’s ₹12.64 crore. The film recorded a solid three-day run with collections of ₹7.75 crore on Friday, ₹9.75 crore on Saturday, and ₹12.64 crore on Sunday, bringing its total to around ₹30.21 crore by the weekend and ₹34.71 crore overall by Monday.

Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film was showcased in 3,992 screenings across India, recording an overall occupancy rate of 32.23%. Interestingly, South India is showing the strongest response—Chennai led the way with a remarkable 72.25% occupancy across 47 shows, followed by Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Starring Akshay Kumar as lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, R. Madhavan as the British defending lawyer Neville Mckinley, and Ananya Panday in a pivotal role, the film brings to life a significant historical trial.
