'Train Operations Unaffected, No Injury': SR
"While leaving Chennai Beach suburban yard, one bogie of Avadi EMU (4th from rear) derailed at 11.08 hrs at 15 kmph speed. No injury to any passengers/staff. Train operations are not affected due to this as mainline tracks are clear," Southern Railways said in an update, reported PTI.
The derailment involved two pairs of wheels slipping off the tracks from one of the coaches, but the moderate speed of the train helped prevent any major consequences.
Efforts to rerail the affected coach were promptly initiated, and the cause of the derailment is currently under investigation.
Railway officials assured the public that suburban services were running smoothly and safety measures were being taken as per standard protocol.
