SS Rajamouli is one of the most sought-after directors in Indian cinema. From Baahubali: The Beginning to RRR, his films smashed box office records and managed to receive positive reviews from critics and audience alike. Regarded as one of the richest filmmakers in India, he earns a huge amount of money from his films and production company.
According to reports, his net worth is estimated to be Rs 158 crore. Moreover, he charges around Rs 200 crore for a film, as reported by IMDb. His staggering fees is more than Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, who charges Rs 150-180 crore for a film.
Telugu Titan SS Rajamouli is the highest-grossing filmmaker in the history of Indian cinema. His earlier releases like Eega and Magadheera have earned him Rs 4250 crore at the box office. While, his globally successful Baahubali franchise and Pan-India film RRR have earned him a staggering Rs 2400 crore. With this box office gross, SS Rajamouli has surpassed director Rohit Shetty, whose films have earned around Rs 3200 crore at the box office and appears on the second spot after the Baahubali director. Moreover, Pushpa-fame Sukumar is on number three with cumulative box office earnings of Rs 2650 crore.
Filmmakers Siddharth Anand and Nitesh Tiwari are at number five with over Rs 2400 crore cumulative gross in their names. While, Rajkumar Hirani and Prasanth Neel are the only other filmmakers who entered Rs 2000 crore club.
Meanwhile, on the personal front, Rajamouli was born on October 10, 1973, in a Telugu family. He earned an Engineering degree from CR Reddy College of Engineering, Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. Married to Rama Rajamouli in 2001, the couple has two children, SS Karthikeya and SS Mayukha. The director is currently busy with his next starring Mahesh Babu. The film reportedly also stars Priyanka Chopra and has no title or release date announced yet.
