Campus notes: School hosts Graduation Day
Invictus International School proudly hosted the graduation ceremony for the class of 2025, a day marked with joy, pride and celebration of achievements. The event commenced with Director Manjot Dhillon celebrating the students’ achievements – academic and otherwise. Chief Guest, Maj Gen Kartik C Seshadri, VSM, GOC 15 Infantry Division and Guest of Honour Sandeep Rishi, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Sangrur, were also present. The ceremony honoured over 50 graduating students who have secured admissions to prestigious global institutions including the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, UCL, King’s College London and the University of Toronto. “With scholarship awards crossing INR 10 crores, this batch has truly made a mark on the global academic map. The Graduation Day was not just a farewell, but a celebration of transformation — a tribute to resilience, ambition and the bright futures that await the Class of 2025,” shared Manjot. The event featured powerful valedictory speeches by Pranay Vadhera, Inayat Arora and Eshaan Rishi, followed by moving addresses from proud parents. The final walk by graduates and the national anthem concluded the event on an emotional note.
Dept of Law wins cultural fest
The Department of Law won the Inter-Departmental Cultural Festival Jashan – 2025 of Guru Nanak Dev University. This festival concluded on Sunday in the Dasmesh Auditorium of the University with the beat of Punjabi folk dance Gidha. A large number of student-artists from various departments of the university participated in this 3-day event. The Department of Architecture & Computer Engineering & Technology stood second (jointly) and the University School of Financial Studies remained third in the competitions. Prof Palwinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs, was the chief guest at the prize distribution function. Prof Palwinder Singh said such festivals are a very important part of our academic system and play a significant role in promoting our rich cultural heritage. He added that these events also explore the concepts of brotherhood, national integration, communal harmony and courage among the students. Shivam Mahendru of Architecture was adjudged Mr Jashan and Sahana of Laws was declared Miss Jashan in the competitions. Overall category wise results: Fine Arts – 1st Education, 2nd Architecture and 3rd Laws; Literary – 1st Computer Engineering & Tech, 2nd Punjab School of Economics and 3rd Laws; Music – 1st Laws, 2nd USFS and 3rd Electronics Tech ; Theatre – 1st Architecture, 2nd Psychology and 3rd USFS and in Dance – 1st Computer Engineering & Tech, 2nd UBS and 3rd Electronics Technology
Prakash Parv celebrations
Khalsa College Governing Council celebrated the Prakash Parv of Guru Arjan Dev at the Gurdwara Sahib located within the college premises. On this occasion, the Prof Chancellor of Khalsa University and Secretary of the Council, Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, extended greetings to the congregation living abroad on the holy day and inspired them to follow the path shown by Guru Sahib. Students of Khalsa College of Engineering and Technology, Ranjit Avenue, offered a spiritual tribute by presenting Kirtan, combining present-day relevance with the Guru’s teachings. Following this, Dr Indrajit Singh Gogoani, a noted history expert and principal of Khalsa College Senior Secondary School, spoke about the life and philosophy of Guru Arjan Dev. He emphasised adopting the teachings of Guru Sahiban in day-to-day life.
