Panchayats Min inaugurates ₹16.5L streetlight project in Israna
Panchayats and Development Minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Sunday inaugurated a streetlight project on a road at Madlauda village in the Israna Assembly constituency, Panipat district. Panwar, on the occasion, said 75 streetlights would be installed on the road at a cost of Rs 16.5 lakh.
The total length of the road was 4 km, and LED streetlights with a capacity of 90 watts would be installed every 50 m, he added.
This arrangement would provide safe passage for villagers during the night, and would enhance the overall beauty of the village, he said.
Panwar said two toilets would be constructed at a cost of Rs 4 lakh at the bus stand in Madlauda for public convenience. These would especially help women, senior citizens and travellers.
The Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, was continuously striving for the holistic development of the state, Panwar added.
The government’s priority was to ensure that fundamental amenities — such as roads, drainage, electricity, sanitation and community infrastructure — were accessible in every village, he said.
The minister said the work to develop ‘phirnis’ in the state was being carried out on a war footing, and the government was ensuring that streetlights were installed on every paved road. The installation of lights on each road was underway in a phased manner, he added, stating that in the first phase, streetlights had been installed on roads in 2,024 villages in the state.
