Gurugram: Four hooligans in SUV ‘thrash’ biker on Dwarka Expressway, booked
Four young men in a car intercept a group of luxury motorcycle riders in the middle of the expressway and thrashed them in Gurugram. They also broke one of their luxury motorcycles. One of the two-wheeler riders sustained severe injuries, following which he was admitted to hospital.
An FIR has been registered at the Sector 37 police station.
The entire incident has been captured in CCTV cameras. A video of the incident went viral on social media, in which two men thrashed the biker while he was begging for mercy. As apparent in the video, one of the accused first tried to take out keys of the motorcycle and then started thrashing the biker. Another in a red t-shirt then came and pulled the biker towards him with his helmet, following which they broke his two-wheeler with a steel baseball stick.
In his complaint, victim Hardik Sharma, a resident of Sector 46 in Gurugram, said he had gone out have a breakfast with his friends on Sunday morning. He met his friends near Ambience mall and they set out together for Pachgaon.
“We were slowly riding towards the Manesar toll plaza when a black car started driving rashly towards us. We stopped on the side under a flyover of Dwarka Expressway to let them go, but they stopped their SUV in front of us. There were four of them in the SUV and all of them in an inebriated condition. They started hitting us and destroying our vehicles. All of this has been recorded. They tried to hit my friends and when I tried to stop them, they hit me with a steel baseball bat on my head. I survived because of my helmet, after this they broke my motorcycle and thrashed me. When they saw a lot of people gathered, all of them sat in their SUV and ran away. Before leaving, they threatened me of dire consequences,” Sharma said in his complaint.
Following the complaint, an FIR was registered against four unidentified persons under relevant sections of the BNS at the Sector 37 police station on Sunday.
“The injured motorcycle rider was sent home after medical treatment. Based on the statement of the victim, the police have started searching for the black car which bears the registration number of Delhi. The accused have been identified and officials are conducting raids to nab them,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
