'We defend you, you assault us': IAF officer, wife brutally attacked in Bengaluru; shares bloodied face

An Indian Air Force Wing Commander sustained serious injuries when he and his wife Squadron Leader Madhumita were allegedly attacked by a group of men in Bengaluru.
In a social media post, the Wing Commander, with a bloodied face, shared his experience. He said the incident happened when his wife was driving him to the airport from the DRDO colony in CV Raman Nagar in the city.
He said a bike came from behind, stopped in front of their car and started abusing him. "Seeing that my car has a DRDO sticker, he said 'you DRDO people' and said many things in Kannada. They abused my wife. When I was coming outside (of the car), immediately he took his key from the bike and hit me on my forehead."
He said he stood there and asked them if this is how they treat the people who defend them. According to them, when he told them that he is from the IAF, more people joined the attacker and started abusing the couple.
He said when the attacker tried to damage his car, the IAF officer attempted to stop him, but the attacker assaulted him again, hitting him on the head.
The IAF officer said they went to the police and added that if the law and order do not help him, he will retaliate.
It is not clear if the attack was unprovoked, as the officer has not said what exactly triggered the aggressor.
