Road Closures, Diversions Lead To Long Traffic Snarls In Delhi-NCR Amid Vance Visit: Video

Commuters from Noida and Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana's Gurugram remained stuck in long traffic snarls on Monday amid road closures and diversions put in place in the national capital in view of US Vice President JD Vance's maiden visit to the country. 

The US Vice President arrived in New Delhi at around 9:30 am on Monday for which traffic police have put in place elaborate arrangements

Routes from Noida to Delhi including a long stretch near Sector 62 and the DND (Delhi Noida Direct) flyway and the Meerut Expressway that goes from Ghaziabad to Delhi witnesses ling traffic snarls with some commuters taking to social media to highlight the issue. 

"Insane traffic," said one social media user sharing videos of the jam-packed Delhi-Meerut National Highway. 

In the national capital, the raods which saw maximum congestion included areas like Dhaula Kuan, Lajpat Nagar, Mahipalur, Vasant Kunj, and Rajouri Garden.

JD Vance India Visit

The US Vice President arrived in India on Monday with his family including his wife, Usha Vance and children Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. They were received at the airport by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. 

Later in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a dinner for the Vances after holding talks with the US Vice President.

Besides Delhi, they will travel to Jaipur and Agra during their four-day trip to India. 

Vance's visit to India comes weeks after US President Donald Trump announced sweeping tariffs against around 60 countries, including India before pausing them. 

The two countries are holding negotiations to seal a bilateral trade agreement that is expected to address a variety of issues, including tariff and market access.
