In view of the problems of such students and the demand of parents and teachers’ unions, the District Basic Education Officer has changed the timing of the schools in the district and has instructed them to operate from 7 am to 12 noon. This decision has brought relief to the parents along with the children.

District Basic Education Officer Jitendra Kumar Gond has instructed the principals and managers of all council and other board schools that in view of the increasing heat, heat wave and care of the health of the students, the operating time of the schools is being changed from 7 am to 12 noon. The order will remain in force till further orders. Along with this, proper arrangements for shade and drinking water will be made in all the educational institutions under the control of the Basic Education Department.

In view of the heat, it will be ensured that the students are not made to do outdoor physical activities etc. The responsibility of monitoring this has been assigned to all the block education officers.

Teachers’ union was raising the demand

United Teachers Association (UTA) General Secretary Rajiv Verma said that the organization was continuously demanding keeping in mind the health of the students and the heat. A memorandum was also submitted. The decision is right according to the time. Primary Teachers’ Union General Secretary Brijesh Dixit says that many schools in the district do not have electricity connection, and at many places the electricity supply is affected. Electricity system should be made smooth in such schools.
