WATCH: John Cena defeats Cody Rhodes, lifts record-breaking 17th World title at WrestleMania 41

At WrestleMania 41, John Cena achieved a historic 17th world championship victory, defeating Cody Rhodes to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship for the first time. This win, however, came after Cena, who had adopted a villainous persona at the Elimination Chamber, employed underhanded tactics.

In a tumultuous WWE match featuring a disabled referee, Cody Rhodes lost the championship to John Cena after Cena used the championship belt to unfairly defeat Rhodes. This win secured Cena’s seventeenth world championship.

John Cena is scheduled to appear on the Pat McAfee Show, followed by a planned opening segment on Raw after WrestleMania. Paul Heyman will also be present at the Raw event.

Following his Elimination Chamber victory, John Cena adopted a villainous persona. He made a deal with The Rock, a decision Cody Rhodes declined. Cena’s heel turn has been successful, and his subsequent championship win is expected to further enhance it.

Randy Orton is a strong potential opponent for John Cena’s upcoming title match. Cody Rhodes also has a chance to win the championship, potentially in Cena’s final WWE match scheduled for December 2025.

Cody Rhodes’ championship reign, which started with a Wrestlemania 40 victory over Roman Reigns, concluded after a loss to John Cena. Cena, who had assisted Rhodes in winning the title a year prior, now holds the championship. The Rock was absent from Wrestlemania.
