Bad news for employees of this company as it ends ‘work from home’ policy, not Narayana Murthy’s Infosys, Ratan Tata’s TCS, name is…

Walmart-owned Flipkart has officially ended its work-from-home policy and asked all employees to return to office five days a week. The company had begun WFH in 2020 after COVID-19 pandemic finally terminated this policy after almost 5 years.

According to a report by MoneyControl, the company had already started reducing its remote work policy but it was limited to senior executives at the vice president level and above. The new 5 days work from office policy will be implemented gradually across all functions and roles in upcoming months. There are certain exceptions as per specific job requirements.

A Flipkart spokesperson explained the reason behind this change and said “By returning to office, we aim to foster a strong sense of community for new hires and existing employees, and a shared focus on our common goal.” Employees will still have access to a limited number of work-from-home days as part of the revised policy.

Amazon, Meesho, Blinkit, and Zepto WFO Policy

Flipkart is a very recent example who made Work from office mandatory. Other e-commerce players like Amazon, Meesho, Blinkit, and Zepto had already made full-time office attendance compulsory long back.

Amazon recently asked all its employees in the Bengaluru office to return to office. It relocated from the World Trade Centre in Rajajinagar to a new office in Devanahalli so they can accommodate its growing workforce.

However Swiggy is different from the few other companies as it still follows a hybrid model. Most Swiggy employees work three days in-office and two days remotely. However there are some teams that are required to work entirely from the office as per their roles.
