Minister Anil Vij directs removal of 33kV power line in Ambala Cantonment
Haryana Energy Minister Anil Vij has issued directions to the state electricity corporation to remove the 33kV power line running from the Dhulkot 220kV sub-station to the 33kV sub-station at 12 Cross Road in Ambala Cantonment.
The minister said the work to remove nearly 20-kilometer-long line would commence shortly. He further said the line currently passes through several residential colonies, posing safety risks to residents. The removal of power cables would bring relief to thousands of people living in these areas, he said.

According to the minister, the 33kV line passes through Ashok Nagar, Pooja Vihar, Kardhan, Naggal, Rampur, Sarsehri, Azad Nagar, Anand Nagar, Dayalbagh, Babiyal, Boh and Defence Colony. Several other areas along Naraingarh Road, Tundla, Tundli, Garnala and colonies in Baldev Nagar were also affected by power line, the minister said.
Anil Vij said, “With the removal of line, thousands of residents in these localities will benefit from enhanced safety and infrastructure. The load carried by the 33kV line will be transferred to the 66kV sub-station at 12 Cross Road, ensuring uninterrupted power supply during and after the transition. As part of the project, the distribution company will remove over 200 iron and cemented poles, along with related equipment. A detailed plan for the removal process has already been prepared by the Power Department.”
