Mayor inspects Ward No. 10 park in Karnal, interacts with walkers

Mayor Renu Bala Gupta assured the general public that there would be no shortage of funds for development works in the city. She said every issue raised by city residents would be resolved on priority basis. During her visit to a park in green belt, Sector 13, which falls in Ward No. 10 of the Municipal Corporation (MC), the Mayor checked condition of the park and interacted with morning walkers and residents to understand their concerns.

Residents highlighted several key issues, including broken footpaths, defunct lights, damaged walls, poor sanitation and improvement in security at the park. They said the park was often misused by anti-social elements, making it uncomfortable for walkers and regular visitors who come here every day.

She instructed officials concerned to initiate work in the park without delay. The work includes maintaining cleanliness, enhancing security arrangements, reconstruction of broken walking track and aesthetic improvements to the park entrance. “Suggestions given by residents will be considered and implemented,” the Mayor said.

She assured that all grievances raised by the people would be addressed. She specifically mentioned that damaged footpath heading from the park to Nirmal Kutia would be repaired soon. Acknowledging multiple problems in the green belt area, the Mayor said beautification and repair work would be taken up promptly at the park. She said tenders for various development projects had already been issued and work would begin within the next 15 to 30 days.

Highlighting the broader development agenda, the Mayor said under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand, the city had witnessed all-round progress. She reiterated her commitment to continue visiting different areas in the city to listen to people’s problems firsthand and ensure their timely resolution.
