An expressway is also being built to connect UP’s capital Lucknow to Kanpur. The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will be no less than a gift for both the cities. After this expressway is opened for traffic, it will take just 40 minutes to reach Kanpur from Lucknow. Currently, this journey takes about three hours. The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is likely to open for traffic in July. After the construction of this expressway, the load of heavy traffic on the Lucknow-Kanpur road will also be reduced considerably.

The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway is 63 km long. There will be an elevated route of 18 km on the expressway. At the same time, a new route will be built on 45 km green field. So far, more than 50 percent of the work of this expressway has been completed. This expressway will start from Lucknow’s Amausi Airport and go up to Nawabganj in Kanpur. This expressway will not only make travel easier but will also speed up trade between the two cities. Both Lucknow and Kanpur are big cities of UP. There is a lot of movement of people between the two cities. With the construction of an 8-lane expressway, goods will reach faster. This will be convenient for traders.

Rs 4700 crore will be spent

The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will also be connected to the Ganga Expressway and Shaheed Path. Due to connectivity with other expressways, travelling to western Uttar Pradesh will also become easier through this expressway. Initially, the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway was proposed to be 6 lanes, but keeping in mind the future traffic, it has been made 8 lanes.

The total cost of this project is estimated to be ₹4,700 crore. For the convenience of passengers, 3 big bridges, 28 small bridges, 6 flyovers and 38 underpasses are being built in the expressway. This entire structure will ensure that the journey between the two cities is completed without any interruption.
