Dr. Madhurya Gogineni who is a Dermatologist at Zennara Clinics, Hyderabad, suggests some tips to heal your skin, they are:

  • Start with Deep Cleansing: Removing residual dirt, pollutants, or stubborn makeup is key. Begin with an oil cleanser or micellar water to lift away impurities without stripping natural oils. Follow it up with a mild, hydrating face wash.
  • Inside-Out Hydration: To replenish moisture, use a  hydrating serum with hyaluronic acid for deep nourishment. Lock in hydration with a rich moisturiser containing ceramides or a gel-based formula. Staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and eating water-rich foods like cucumber and watermelon further helps in skin recovery.
  • Night Care Essential: At night, a nourishing night cream or a few drops of facial oil like argan oil helps repair the skin barrier.  Avoid using active skincare products like retinoids or acids for a few days to let your skin heal naturally.

Dr. Prachi B. Bodkhe who is a Dermatologist at Envi Aesthetics shares home-based hydration treatments:

  • Aloe vera gel, hyaluronic acid serum, or a hydrating sheet mask can soothe dryness and replenish lost moisture.
  • If the skin is extremely dry and itchy, avoid using AHA and BHA serums and retinol for at least three days.

Ashwini Kodare, senior aesthetician at Looks Salon, adds that coconut, olive, or almond oil can also double as effective makeup removers. Avoid harsh soaps at all costs, they can exacerbate dryness and irritation.
