Rs 66.5L projects for govt schools launched

To persuade residents to enrol their wards in government schools, Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Amargarh MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra chaired functions at various government primary and high schools of their respective segments as a part of Punjab Sikhya Kranti.

Mundian visited Government Schools in Jamalpur Awana, Bhamian Khurad, Bhamian Kalan, and Tajpur Bet, while Gajjanmajra laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 66.50 lakh at institutions in Jandali Khurad, Jandali Kalan, Mohalla Amarpura, Dehliz Khurad, and Bajrang Akhara Road, Ahmedgarh.

While addressing residents, including parents of students of government schools, Mundian and Gajjanmajra highlighted achievements of the state government in the field of education.

“Health and education are top priorities of the government and various development works have been initiated by Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains and Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh,” said Gajjanmajra.

We are committed to providing government school students with facilities equivalent to those in private convent schools, he added.

Mundian stated that the AAP Government had delivered on its promises from the 2022 Assembly elections. “Nearly 12,700 temporary teachers have been regularised, and more than 20,000 new teachers have been recruited since we came into power,” he said.

The leaders also shared that 8,905 students have shifted from private to government schools this year, reflecting growing public trust in the state-run education system.
