Nine smugglers arrested

A total of eight FIRs were registered and 9 persons arrested during a special cordon and search operation conducted by the Jalandhar (Rural) police. The police seized 50, 500 ml of illicit liquor, 335 narcotic pills, silver paper, lighter and a motorcycle.

Under the preventive special campaign being conducted against drug smuggling and criminal elements, the police conducted anti-drug operations in various areas.

Jalandhar (Rural) Police conducted the operation on April 18 from 4 pm to 8 pm. This operation, under SSP Harvinder Singh Virk, covered many drug-affected areas of the district. Nine persons were arrested during the operation.
