NRI donates ambulance
Ashish Sharma, Municipal Commissioner of the Palampur MC, flagged off a newly donated ambulance on Saturday, donated by NRI Raja Sood to the Palampur Sani Sewa Sadan.
Raja Sood, who currently resides and works in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, donated the ambulance in memory of his late mother, Chanchala Devi Sood, who recently passed away after battling cancer.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Sharma praised the gesture, calling it a noble act of compassion. “The vehicle will serve the poor free of cost and will greatly benefit the community,” he said. Though Raja Sood could not attend the ceremony in person, Sharma commended his selfless contribution and added that the ambulance is equipped with a basic life-support system, making it a valuable asset for emergency care. Parminder Bhatia, head of the Sani Sewa Sadan, expressed gratitude for the donation.
