JEE (Main): Gurugram’s Amogh is Haryana topper
Amogh Bansal, a resident of Sector 81, Gurugram, has emerged as the Haryana state topper in the JEE Main (Session-2) exam, scoring a 99.99 percentile.
The result of the exam was declared on Saturday.
His all-India ranking was 29, said Prashant Maurya, regional head, Aakash Educational Services Limited.
Talking to The Tribune, he said Amogh was a brilliant student who had also scored a 99.99 percentile in the JEE (session-1) exam.
“Among the top scorers from our institute in Gurugram are Devya Rustagi (AIR 28), Amogh Bansal (AIR 29), Aditya Kumar (AIR 79), and Ayush Agrawal (AIR 133),” he added.
He said over 40 students of the Gurugram centre had secured good ranks in the test, and would secure admissions in the top ranking IITs of the country.
Maurya said, “These results highlight the students’ dedication and academic excellence.”
Amogh’s father, Sachin Bansal, works as a senior vice-president in a private bank. His mother, Chandni Bansal, is a professor at a private college.
Sachin said Amogh abided by a time-table for his study routine.
Amogh had achieved the rank by studying for at least 11 hours a day, he added.
Talking about his achievement, Amogh said, “Mathematics and physics are my favourite subjects. I had worked hard and studied regularly for the past few months to crack the JEE Main (Session-2) exam. Our teachers at the coaching centre gave us the freedom to believe in ourselves instead of pressuring us. They encouraged me. It gave me a lot of confidence knowing that they believed in me.”
Dr Yash Pal, chief academic and business head, Aakash Educational Services Limited, congratulated Amogh on his achievement.
