Uttar Pradesh Shocker: Badaun Woman Elopes With Daughter's Father-In-Law

Badaun: A woman from Uttar Pradesh's Badaun allegedly eloped with her daughter's father-in-law. The incident surfaced days after a woman from Aligarh eloped with her daughter's fiancé. The woman, identified as 43-year-old Mamta, has four children. Her one daughter got married to 46-year-old Shailendra's son in 2022, reported India Today.

Mamta's Husband is reportedly a truck driver. He told the media house that he visited home twice a month, but sent money home regularly. Mamta used to call Shailendra to her home in the absence of her husband.

"I drive a truck and come home only once or twice a month. I used to send money on time, but my wife Mamta used to call my samadhi (daughter’s father-in-law) home and engage in an affair. Now, she has run away with him, taking jewellery and cash," Kumar said as reported by India Today.

Sunil Kumar's Statement:

Meanwhile, the duo's son Sachin said that Mamta used to call Shailendra every third day and send the children to another room. Meanwhile, Mamta's neighbour Awadhesh Kumar also confirmed that she often called her daughter's father-in-law to her house.

As per Awadhesh Kumar, Shailendra used to come to Mamta's home at night and leave early in the morning.

Sunil Kumar filed a complaint against Shailendra at the local police station. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.

“On April 11, Mamta called Shailendra, and the two absconded together,” said Singh, as reported by PTI.

Woman Elopes With Daughter's Fiancé:

Earlier this month, a 38-year-old woman from UP's Aligarh eloped with her daughter’s fiancé. While the Uttar Pradesh Police claimed to have arrested the pair, the duo maintains they voluntarily surrendered, saying they want to spend the rest of their lives together. The woman is accused of fleeing with jewellery and other valuables.

According to a report by Live Hindustan, the woman, identified as Apna Devi, confessed to being in love with her would-be son-in-law, Sushant, and denied the claims of running away with jewellery and other valuables kept for her daughter's wedding. “I didn’t take any cash or jewellery. I only want to live with the man I love,” she told the police.

Her husband, Jitendra Kumar, however, had a different narrative. Speaking to PTI, he alleged that Apna Devi left with Rs 3 lakh in cash and over Rs 5 lakh worth of jewellery meant for their daughter’s wedding scheduled for April 16. “My wife used to speak with our daughter’s fiance for hours, but we never imagined it would end this way. She has ruined us,” he told the news agency.
