Skoda has launched the all-new generation of its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, in India with a host of enhancements over its predecessor. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the latest version boasts sharper styling cues, increased dimensions, and a lower stance, lending it a more assertive and contemporary appearance. Offered in two trims – a luxurious L&K and the sportier Sportline – the 2025 Skoda Kodiaq is priced at Rs 48.69 lakh and Rs 46.89 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, reflecting a notable jump from the outgoing model’s entry price.

Design

Skoda has taken a bold step forward with the design of the new-generation Kodiaq, giving the SUV a more upmarket and futuristic appeal. While it continues to carry the brand’s iconic butterfly grille, the addition of a light bar across it brings a high-tech edge to its front fascia. Sleeker LED headlamps and a reshaped bumper add to its refreshed identity. The side profile sees minimal changes, retaining the overall proportions of the outgoing model, with subtle tweaks like a slightly upward-sweeping window line and newly designed 18-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, however, the transformation is more pronounced. A redesigned bumper and a full-width LED tail lamp setup lend a sportier and more cohesive look, setting it apart from it predecessor.

The updated Skoda Kodiaq has grown slightly in size, giving it a more commanding presence on the road. It now measures 4,758mm in length, making it 61mm longer than the previous model. While the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,971mm, the SUV is now slightly narrower by 18mm and sits 17mm lower, which helps enhance its sporty stance.

Interior & Features

Skoda has taken a major leap forward with the interior of the new Kodiaq, blending luxury with smart functionality. The cabin layout is now more streamlined and spacious, thanks in part to the relocation of the gear selector behind the steering wheel. Each variant brings its own personality inside—while the Laurin & Klement version offers a rich black-and-tan theme for a premium vibe, the Sportline trim sticks to an all-black finish for a sportier appeal.

A notable new feature is the Smart Dial setup, a trio of rotary controls placed below the central screen to manage climate, audio, and other settings with ease. The Kodiaq also steps up its tech game with a large 13-inch infotainment display, a crisp 10.25-inch digital driver’s cluster, and a head-up display for real-time driving data. Enhancing comfort and convenience, the SUV offers front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions, a 14-speaker Canton sound system, wireless charging, multiple USB-C ports, and seamless smartphone connectivity. A panoramic sunroof rounds off the interior upgrades, creating a bright and airy atmosphere inside.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the new Skoda Kodiaq receives a performance boost while retaining its familiar mechanical setup. The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine continues to power the SUV, but now delivers a higher output of 201bhp, an improvement over the previous 187bhp. Despite the increase in power, torque figures remain unchanged at 320Nm. The engine is paired with the same seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system, ensuring a balanced mix of power and control across different driving conditions.
