Campus notes: Sat Paul Mittal School

To acknowledge the academic brilliance of students from classes VI to IX and XI and to felicitate the ‘Good Folk’ achievers, Sat Paul Mittal School hosted its annual prize distribution ceremony on Friday. The ceremony commenced with an invocation song, seeking the divine blessings of God and expressing gratitude for the milestones achieved. In his welcome address, Shri Bipin Gupta, vice-chairman, governing council, Sat Paul Mittal School, applauded the unwavering dedication of the awardees. He emphasised the value of resilience, perseverance and the pursuit of lifelong learning, inspiring students to chase their dreams with passion and purpose. This year, twenty-six students were felicitated for their exemplary academic achievements. Each recipient was honoured with a trophy, certificate and a cash prize, celebrating their consistent efforts and academic excellence. A key highlight of the event was the recognition of students under the school’s innovative ‘Good Folk System’, a home-grown structured initiative that fosters values, life skills and ethical conduct among Satyans. The ‘Good Folk’ were evaluated on various parameters, including regularity, punctuality, discipline, teamwork, responsibility and respectful behaviour with staff and peers and were awarded stars and smileys throughout the year. The students who earned the highest number of stars in a year earned the title of the ‘Good Folk Star Achievers of the Year’. Fourteen students received this distinguished honour, along with a trophy, certificate and cash award.

University Institute of Laws

The placement cell of the University Institute of Laws, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana, organised a placement drive on April 17. The primary objective of the drive was to provide students with deeper knowledge of how, within the world of law, one could make their dreams come true. It was also observed that students were keen to ask questions and get interviews with distinguished law firms. The event was successfully convened under the guidance of Director Prof Aman Amrit Cheema and was coordinated by faculty members Dr Vaishali Thakur and Dr Nisha Jindal.

CT University

CT University recently organised a national symposium on ‘Drug Discovery: From Nature to Novel Medicine’, a testament to its commitment to fostering innovation and research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. With over 150 registrations from across India, the symposium brought together experts, researchers, and students to explore the latest advancements in drug discovery and development. The symposium featured a competition for oral and poster presentations on various topics, including pharmacology, pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical chemistry etc. A panel of esteemed judges, led by chairperson Dr Puneet Utreja, evaluated the presentations, providing valuable feedback to the participants. The event also included five workshops on cutting-edge topics such as the ‘Zebrafish Model’ in pharmacological research, docking methods and simulation in drug discovery, drosophila model in pharmacological research, and HPLC instrumentation. These workshops aimed to equip participants with the latest research methodologies and insights, enabling them to apply their knowledge in future endeavours.

MGM Public School

Providing a platform to students to showcase their hidden talents and pursue their dreams MGM Public School hosted a talent hunt competition. The event saw an overwhelming response, with students enthusiastically participating in various artistic fields. The competition helped them develop creativity, self-expression and confidence, allowing them to carve a niche for themselves. The winners were congratulated by Principal Ranjana Kaushal, who emphasised the school’s belief in nurturing each child’s potential. Kaushal noted that such competitions played a vital role in fostering students’ intrinsic qualities and helping them overcome stage fear.
