This actor ignored Dharmendra on set, refused to look at him, later fell at superstar’s feet, apologized to him after he…., his name is…

Mukesh Rishi, is one of the most popular villains of Indian cinema. With a career spanning over three decades, he has shared screen with almost every superstar including Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and among others. Mukesh Rishi, who has extensively worked with veteran actor Dharmendra, once revisited his first encounter with him on a film set. Initially, he overlooked the star and showed little interest in meeting him.

While speaking to Radio Nasha Official, Mukesh Rishi reminisced, “Dharamendra ji is among the people whose poster I had in my cupboard. So when I worked with him, it was surreal. He had a scene to shoot, Dharamendra ji came on set, I know he is there, but I didn’t go to see him. I was mugging up my lines for my scene and then I said I was ready, I went on set, he was already there, but I didn’t look at him. Then the shot happened.”

After finishing the scene, Rishi expressed his utmost respect to Dharmendra. He bowed at his idol’s feet, explaining that he avoided him the entire time to prevent his admiration from affecting his performance. The actor revealed that rather than formal training, it was his personal experiences that taught him how to work composedly alongside esteemed individuals.

Mukesh Rishi and Dharmendra first shared screen space in the 1992 film Humlaa, starring Anil Kapoor. They later collaborated on several films including Jeeo Shaan Se (1997), Zulm-O-Sitam (1998), Nyaydaata (1999), and Loh Purush (1999).
