Born in 1963 in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, Saurabh has inherited art. His parents were experts in classical music. It is said that Saurabh’s mother Jogmaya Shukla is the first tabla player of Indian music. Saurabh was 2 years old when his family came to Delhi.

After completing his studies in Delhi, the actor entered the world of theatre in 1984. The actor made his mark through theatre, and in 1991, he made a place in the prestigious ‘The Repertoire Company’ of the National School of Drama. Director of the film, Mr. India, Shekhar Kapur, was very impressed with Saurabh’s acting and gave him a big break in the film Bandit Queen (1994).

Saurabh Shukla played the role of ‘Kallu Mama’ in the 1998 film ‘Satya’, which is still popular. After this, Saurabh never looked back.
