700-km in just 9 hours, this expressway will have 6 tunnels, its name is…, top speed to be…

A big update has come on the 701-km long Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Expressway. The 76-km long final part of this expressway, from Igatpuri to Amane, can be opened on May 1 – on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. According to officials, this work can happen along with the launch of the south-bound route of Thane Creek Bridge. After the full opening of this expressway, the travel time between Mumbai and Nagpur will be reduced from 16-18 hours to 8-9 hours.

According to a report, Anil Gaikwad, Managing Director of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), confirmed, “Both the projects are fully ready for inauguration. Once it opens, connectivity to Navi Mumbai, Pune and the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport will improve significantly.”

Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is a state-of-the-art expressway built between Nagpur and Mumbai. It is noteworthy that it is also known as Hinduhridaysamrat Balasaheb Thackeray Samruddhi Mahamarg. This expressway project was first conceived by former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to improve high-speed connectivity between Mumbai and Nagpur.
