Thane News: Police Arrest Five Persons From Kerala For Robbery Of ₹30 Lakhs
Thane: The Thane Police arrested five individuals from Kerala on Thursday in connection with a robbery of Rs 30 lakh. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), Amarsingh Jadhav, provided details of the case in a media statement.
The incident occurred on February 21. According to police, an employee of a Mumbai-based private firm was accosted by four men in a parking lot near Thane railway station. The gang snatched a bag containing Rs 30 lakh from the victim, who subsequently filed a complaint with the police, according to a news agency PTI report.
Based on several leads, including CCTV footage, the Thane Police were able to trace and arrest five suspects from Kerala. During the operation, the police recovered Rs 7.5 lakh in cash and two iPhones worth Rs 3 lakh, which had been purchased using the stolen money.
The official informed, the accused have been identified as Vignesh Poken K (31) and Suhat Moinuddin Khoya TP (31) from Calicut, Prabuldev Premkumar Pullivata (25) and Akil Krishna PV (27) from Coonoor, and Subilesh K Balakrishnan (32) from Kozhikode, as per report. All five suspects have been remanded in police custody till April 19.
4 Highway Robbers Arrested After Attacking And Looting Man
The Kalamboli Police arrested four robbers who allegedly and looted a man travelling to Kamothe from Mahad. A late-night robbery occurred around 1 a.m. on April 13, when a man travelling from Mahad was assaulted and looted near the Roadpali signal while heading toward Kalamboli Circle.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Swapnil Sakpal, was confronted by four men riding two motorcycles a KTM and a Pulsar, near Bima Complex. The assailants physically attacked Sakpal and stole the cash he was carrying before fleeing the area.
Following the incident, Kalamboli police launched a swift operation that led to a chase extending to Kopra village in Kharghar. As a result, all four accused involved in the highway robbery were successfully arrested.
