With SC saying it was inclined to stay parts of Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025 – including those allowing appointment of non-Muslims on Central Waqf Council and Waqf Boards and arbitrary denotification of ‘Waqf by user’ properties – the government decided to take a momentary step back and return with a detailed response to objections raised by a clutch of petitioners
