According to information, Chhotu, who lived in Bawdi village, was riding his bicycle to Bagchini market when the tractor hit him near Neel Mandir. His grandfather, who was walking behind him, tried to stop the tractor by shouting, but the driver sped away from the spot.

CCTV footage from Bagchini crossing shows the tractor moving at high speed with three people on board. Police said the driver has been identified and will be caught soon. SP Sameer Saurabh has sent three police teams, including crime branch officers, to catch the tractor and the driver.

Former Union Minister Arun Yadav also raised the issue on social media platform X, criticising the government over illegal sand mining.

Villagers said illegal sand mining continues in the Chambal river area, and accused the police of taking bribes from the sand mafia. They also questioned the state's Agriculture Minister Endal Singh Kansana, who often refers to such people as “pet mafias” (those earning for their family), saying if that were true, they wouldn’t be crushing people on roads.

Police have denied claims that tractor drivers pay ₹5,000 regularly as bribes. The search for the accused is ongoing.
