‘Samvad 2025’ – New initiative by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini’s Atal Incubation Centre
It is often said that it’s better to generate jobs than seek jobs. Even though Maharashtra is advanced in terms of industry and commerce, most people in the state still shy away from setting up their own business. Start-ups are now being encouraged in the country in order to create employment via new businesses. Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini’s (RMP) Atal Incubation Centre (AIC), set up in 2019 with this objective, has started the new initiative called ‘Samvad 2025 – Youth Entrepreneurship – Dreams & Opportunities’. The first one-day workshop under this initiative aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation was recently conducted at RMP’s serene campus in Uttan, near Mumbai.
Presence of enterprising villagers from around Bhayandar
This workshop, which was organized to nurture entrepreneurship among the local villagers and fulfil their dreams, was attended by more than 60 young and middle-aged men and women from Uttan, Dongari, Rai, Morva and other villages, who are budding entrepreneurs. Some of them are engaged in salaried jobs, agriculture or fishing, while others provide local tailoring and catering services. Most of them are 10th or 12th pass-outs; but have many innovative ideas. About 10 students were also present for the workshop.
Guidance about start-ups, raising capital & available schemes
Uday Wankawala, CEO, AIC-RMP, informed those present about the guidance provided by the organization to budding entrepreneurs. He said, “We handhold people for transforming ideas into start-ups. This way we have assisted numerous promising rural entrepreneurs till now.” Dhammapal Thorat, District Project Officer, Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, discussed the available government schemes, subsidies for men and women, and the training provided. Thereafter, Sachin Ranavase, Deputy General Manager, Jankalyan Sahakari Bank, guided the participants about raising the capital, loan options from the bank, and the required documents and criteria involved, and also answered the questions asked. Pravin Patil, social worker from Rai, provided assistance in making this event a success.
This novel initiative of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini surely proved useful to these budding entrepreneurs in knowing about the available opportunities and getting equipped with business related knowledge. More such workshops will be organized in the future.
