Punjab National Bank Branch In Indore Gets Bomb Threat; Police & Security Agencies On Alert
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A Punjab National Bank branch in Indore has allegedly received a bomb threat on Thursday. The bank manager received a threatening mail, that mentioned a blast will be carried out with a remote control soon.
The pertains to a PNB branch in Siyaganj area of Indore. Bank officials informed the police control room about receiving an unknown email.
Bomb disposal squads and forensic teams rushed to the spot, and the bank premises were swiftly evacuated as a precautionary measure.
A thorough search operation is currently underway.
No suspicious object found
Security agencies became alert as soon as the information was received. Police and bomb disposal squad team reached there. The team thoroughly searched the bank premises for about an hour, however no suspicious object was found.
The police and BDS team conducted a search operation inside and around the bank premises. However, no explosive material or suspicious object was found during the search.
Matter under investigation
At present, the police are taking the matter very seriously and are actively investigating the source and authenticity of the threat.
While initial assessments suggest that the email might be fake, officials are not taking any chances. The case is being jointly investigated by the Crime Branch and the Police.
