CMF Phone 2 Pro To Pack Dimensity 7300 Pro Chip, Promises Gaming Boost & AI Prowess
As the April 28 launch date draws closer, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF has started lifting the veil on its upcoming smartphone — the CMF Phone 2 Pro. The company has now confirmed a key detail about the device that could be a game-changer for performance enthusiasts: its chipset.
Faster, Smarter Chip Under the Hood
CMF has officially revealed that the Phone 2 Pro will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chipset.
This comes as a generational step up from the original CMF Phone 1, which featured the standard Dimensity 7300 SoC. According to the company, users can expect a 10 percent boost in CPU speeds and up to 5 percent improvement in graphics performance over last year’s model.
Another highlight is the sixth-generation NPU that’s integrated into the chip, offering 4.8 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of AI processing power. These improvements signal a focus on delivering smoother multitasking, smarter on-device AI features, and improved gaming efficiency.
Gaming and Touch Enhancements Teased
The CMF Phone 2 Pro also seems to have gamers in its sights. The company has teased that the device will support 120fps gameplay on BGMI, along with a 1,000Hz touch sampling rate. That combination should offer incredibly responsive touch inputs — a spec that mobile gamers are bound to appreciate. CMF has also promised a 53 percent boost in network performance, although specifics about the tech behind that enhancement remain under wraps.
Adding to the appeal is a thin and lightweight design, continuing CMF's trend of minimalist and user-friendly aesthetics.
Full Launch Set for April 28 — With Buds in Tow
The CMF Phone 2 Pro will be launched alongside three new audio products: the CMF Buds 2, Buds 2a, and Buds 2 Plus. All of them are expected to be available via Flipkart following the official reveal.
Interestingly, while many smartphone makers have moved away from including accessories, CMF is doing the opposite. “The phone will ship with a charger in the box,” said Akis Evangelidis, Nothing co-founder and India President, in a recent statement.
As a reminder, the first CMF Phone debuted in July 2023 at a starting price of ₹15,999. It featured a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED LTPS display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 50MP Sony main camera, 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging. While the design of the Phone 2 Pro is expected to stay true to that aesthetic, the upgrades under the hood — especially the new Dimensity chip — are likely to make it a more powerful and competitive budget offering in 2025.
