Kunal Kamra Controversy | Police Cannot Arrest Kunal Kamra Till Court Decides on Quashing of FIR

The Bombay High Court has completed hearing a petition filed by comedian Kunal Kamra to quash the FIR registered against him by the Mumbai Police for his comments during a comedy show performance in Mumbai. The court has reserved its orders but given the comedian protection from arrest till orders are passed. The Shiv Sena had taken offence to Kamra’s digs at Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde and Shiv Sena supporters had vandalised the comedy venue, The Habitat, where the performance was filmed. Kunal Kamra told the court that threats have been issued to him by the Shiv Sena leaders and the court is likely to pass its order soon.
