Politics: Mayawati accuses SP of provoking Dalits for vote bank politics ahead of 2027 elections
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has launched a sharp political attack on the Samajwadi Party (SP), accusing it of attempting to provoke Dalits in the name of vote bank politics. Addressing her party workers, Mayawati alleged that SP is deliberately trying to mislead the Dalit community for political gain rather than genuinely working for their welfare. She urged BSP workers to actively engage with the public in the lead-up to the 2027 elections and expose what she called SP’s "opportunistic politics." Mayawati emphasized that only the BSP has consistently fought for the rights and upliftment of Dalits and backward communities without resorting to manipulative tactics. The BSP supremo called on her cadre to educate people about the SP's past record, highlighting instances of alleged injustice and negligence towards Dalits under previous SP governments. She also reiterated her party’s commitment to social justice and inclusive development, stressing that BSP remains the true voice of marginalized sections. This political charge has stirred new tensions in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape, indicating that caste dynamics and community mobilization will play a key role in the upcoming 2027 state elections.
