Kesari Chapter 2 Advance Bookings Day 1: Akshay Kumar's Film Sells Over 4,000 Tickets
New Delhi: Just two days remain till the theatrical premiere of Akshay Kumar's next courtroom drama ‘Kesari Chapter 2’. The film chronicles the narrative of C. Shankaran Nair, a lawyer who fought for justice for the innocent victims of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. It stars Ananya Panday and R. Madhavan and is set in the aftermath of that tragedy.
The early box office numbers show a mixed picture, despite the movie's significant excitement. With advance ticket sales, the film has made a little more than Rs 1.02 crore so far, which includes the earnings from block seat reservations. There has been a lot of positive feedback about the plan to have early screenings in important cities, including Bengaluru, Kolkata, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Mumbai.
The film is slowly gaining momentum, with 4,034 tickets sold and 1,948 screenings already booked in India. With Rs 28 lakh collected from the capital city alone, Delhi has taken the lead.
The expected gross amount increases to Rs 89.36 lakh when block seat reservations are taken into consideration. This is a good beginning, but it isn't up to the standard of a star-studded film like ‘Kesari Chapter 2’.
The film's special showing in Delhi on Tuesday, attended by lawmakers and select fans, was hosted by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, adding to the anticipation. Audiences praised Akshay Kumar and Madhavan's acting, and they expressed gratitude to the film's creators for bringing attention to a pivotal moment in history.
