Mosquito Bowl: Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård to star in 'American Primeval' director Peter Berg's next

Filmmaker Peter Berg has been prepping a movie adaptation of Buzz Bissinger’s New York Times bestseller 'The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II' for a while, and now he has landed two big names to take on the lead roles. Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) and Bill Skarsgård (Nosferatu) will appear in Mosquito Bowl, for Netflix, reports Deadline.
Berg, who recently directed the six-episode Netflix series, American Primeval, is making this film as part of a new deal with the streamer. The source material boasts a unique idea — Marine Corps regiments participating in a football game christened the 'Mosquito Bowl' while World War II rages in the backdrop. The story's emotional core comes from the characters' decision to playing one 'last game' before they go off to participate in the Battle of Okinawa.
It's not yet known what roles these two would play. The project sees Berg reuniting with screenwriter Mark L. Smith, who collaborated with the former on American Primeval. Smith is known for films such as The Revenant, Martyrs, and Overlord.
Bill Skarsgård is familiar to audiences through notable recent works such as Robert Eggers' Nosferatu reboot, John Wick: Chapter 4, the two IT films (as the terrifying Pennywise the Clown), and Barbarian. Aside from Mosquito Bowl, Skarsgård will return as Pennywise in the IT prequel series Welcome to Derry. He is also part of Gus Van Sant's Dead Man’s Wire and Michael Sarnoski’s The Death of Robin Hood.
Galitzine, on the other hand, has a new Masters of the Universe movie coming up. He was last seen in the romantic drama The Idea of You, where he played a young celebrity falling in love with an older woman (Anne Hathaway).
