Kia Launches AI Voice Assistant to Boost In-Car Connectivity and User Experience

Kia has expanded its next-gen AI voice assistant to the European market, aiming to make in-car communication more natural and user-friendly. This smart assistant, already available in Korea and the U.S., allows drivers to speak casually with their vehicle and receive helpful responses about various functions.

Kia’s new AI Assistant brings a smarter, more intuitive way for drivers to interact with their vehicles. By understanding natural speech and the context behind the commands, the system makes conversations with the car feel more human and effortless. It responds more accurately when users provide detailed questions, improving overall convenience.

The assistant will continue to evolve through regular Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, offering new features and improved performance. This technology also allows Kia’s latest EV models, like the EV3, to upgrade to the new voice system through the brand’s connected car Navigation Cockpit platform.

Kia's AI Assistant is designed to be simple and user-friendly, activated either by pressing the voice control button on the steering wheel or just saying, “Hey Kia.” Drivers can ask the assistant a wide range of questions — from finding nearby restaurants based on specific food preferences to learning what features the system can perform. This new voice technology goes well beyond basic commands, offering a smarter and more helpful experience compared to older systems. It’s built to make everyday driving easier and more connected.

Kia’s advanced AI Assistant is gradually making its way into more global markets and models. After being first introduced in South Korea in July 2024 and later in the U.S. with the Kia K4, the technology is now included in the European version of the EV3. Starting March 2025, all newly built EV3 units for Europe will come equipped with the AI Assistant as standard. Additionally, previously manufactured models will receive the feature through the latest over-the-air (OTA) software update. Kia also plans to expand this smart voice assistant to more models equipped with its connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) system in the near future.
