Justice Arun Palli Administered Oath As Chief Justice Of J&K And Ladakh High Court

JAMMU, Apr 16: Justice Arun Palli was on Wednesday administered oath as the Chief Justice of the Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha.
The simple, but impressive, ceremony was attended by J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Judges of the high court, subordinate judiciary and other dignitaries. The Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice GS Sandhawalia was also present.
Judges, sitting and retired, from Justice Palli’s parent high court of Punjab and Haryana, along with advocates, family and friends, also attended the event at the Convention Centre.
Justice Palli was born on September 18, 1964. His father, Prem Kishan Palli, was a Senior Advocate and also served as judge at the Himachal Pradesh High Court from where he retired in 1998.
Justice Palli graduated in commerce and completed his law degree from Panjab University in 1988.
He began his legal practice at the Punjab and Haryana High Court and in 2004, he was appointed Additional Advocate General for Punjab. He held the position for three years until March 2007.
He was designated as a Senior Advocate later the same year.
He was elevated as a judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court on December 28, 2013.
He served as Executive Chairman of Haryana State Legal Service Authority since May 31, 2023. He was also nominated as a Member of the Governing Body of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) on October 31, 2023, for a tenure of two years.
