On Cam: Patient Dragged, Assaulted At Bengaluru Rehab Centre; Staff Members Arrested
A private rehabilitation facility near Bengaluru has come under intense scrutiny after a video showing a patient being violently assaulted by staff members went viral, sparking public outrage. The disturbing footage, recorded on CCTV, revealed a horrifying scene where the patient is cornered, beaten with sticks, and dragged across the premises while bystanders do nothing to intervene.
The incident took place at a rehab centre located within the Nelamangala Rural Police jurisdiction, near Bengaluru, as per a report on India Today.
Police Raid Rehab Facility
Acting swiftly after the video circulated on social media, police conducted a raid on the facility and arrested both the centre’s warden and its owner. A suo motu case has been registered at Nelamangala Police Station, reported NDTV. The police have invoked relevant sections, including those under the Arms Act.

In a separate but equally troubling discovery, another video emerged from the same facility showing individuals using a dagger to cut a birthday cake—raising further alarm about the presence of weapons and overall safety standards at the centre.
Police have confirmed that the assault incident occurred earlier, but only came to light recently. All individuals involved have been taken into custody, and authorities are now digging deeper to determine whether similar incidents of abuse have taken place at the centre in the past.
