Three die in two road accidents in Sirsa’s Rania
Three people lost their lives in two separate road accidents in Rania of Sirsa district on Monday night.
The bodies of the deceased were sent to the Civil Hospital in Sirsa for a post-mortem examination. Based on the statements of the victims’ families, the Rania police have registered separate cases and started investigations.
In the first incident, Vijay Singh, a resident of Kussar village, died at around 9 pm in a road mishap.
Vijay was married and had two children. He owned a grocery shop. According to a police report filed by his cousin, Rajroop, Vijay was returning home from his shop on a motorcycle. While he was near Mahawat Seeds, a speeding car hit his bike from behind. He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. In the second incident, two youngsters from Naiwala village, Sahil and his cousin Vijay, died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
They were returning home after attending a wedding.
Sahil’s father, Mahender Singh, told the police that his son was riding a motorcycle with his cousin Vijay.
Around 10.30 pm near Ranipur Thehri, an unidentified vehicle coming from Sirsa towards Jiwan Nagar collided with them. Both were seriously injured and rushed to the Civil Hospital, where they were declared dead.
Man dies of electrocution while harvesting wheat
In another accident, the same evening, a man died of electrocution in Kanwarpura village while harvesting wheat. The incident occurred when a combine harvester came in contact with a high-tension electricity wire passing over the field. The operator of the machine, 38-year-old Gurdev, aka Bagga, from Suchan village, died on the spot due to electric shock.
The owner of the field was also on the machine, and fell off, but survived. Live electric current spread through the machine, causing a fire in its front section. The machine was later turned off.
On receiving the information, the Ding police reached the site, and sent the body for a post-mortem examination at the Civil Hospital.
