Traditional Bheuli fair begins in Mandi with grand procession of local deities

The traditional two-day Bheuli fair began yesterday in Mandi district with a grand procession of revered local deities, marking the start of the vibrant cultural celebrations. The shobha yatra was taken out from the ancient Sheetla Mata Temple in Old Mandi, where deities from various regions assembled and proceeded towards Bheuli.

The fair is dedicated to Maa Bhimakali. Thousands of devotees gathered for darshan and rituals on the occasion. Upon the arrival of the procession at Bheuli, Mandi Municipal Corporation Mayor Virendee Bhatt formally inaugurated the fair. Speaking on the occasion, he emphasised on the role of these deities in preserving the region’s rich traditions.

He said, “They are the true spirit of local festivities.”

The event turned into a divine congregation, with participation from deities including Devi Shakambhari, Naradu Narayan, Devi Chamunda, Mahakali, Maa Naina Devi, Maa Vaishno Devi and many others from nearby temples.
